Department Summary The Department of Dance & Theatre offers a B.A. in Theatre, a B.A. in Theatre with a Concentration in Performance, a B.A. in Theatre with a Concentration in Design/Tech, a Theatre Teacher Certification, a Theatre minor, and a Theatre Technologies Certificate. A graduate degree in Theatre is currently not offered.
Position Overview The Department of Dance & Theatre seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
The anticipated need is for Performance courses such as: Theatre Voice, Acting Fundamentals, Costume, Theatre Makeup, Play Analysis, Theatre Movement, Contemporary Chicana/o Theatre, LGBTQ Plays & Performances, Aesthetics, Theatre Appreciation, Creative Drama for Education majors. Design/Tech classes include courses such as: Stage Management, Stage Production.
Minimum Qualifications M.A or M.F.A. in Theatre.
Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching in Higher Education.
Terminal degree in discipline is preferred.
