Role Description
This is a full-time or part time for a Business Development Manager (BDM) in Construction & Architecture at City Wood Products Inc. located in Houston, TX. The BDM will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies, identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and achieving sales targets within the construction and architecture industry. This is a start up role.
Qualifications
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
• Identify potential clients within architecture firms, construction companies, and design firms.
• Cold-call or email prospective clients and follow up on inbound inquiries.
• Network actively in the industry to generate warm leads through trade shows, conferences, and partnerships.
2. Client Relationship Management:
• Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at potential clients.
• Understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.
• Be the point of contact throughout the sales cycle, from initial contact to contract negotiation.
3. Sales Strategy:
• Develop and implement sales strategies to secure new business.
• Actively sell the benefits of offshore and competitively priced drafting services.
• Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets.
4. Negotiations and Closing Deals:
• Manage contract negotiations and close deals with clients.
• Collaborate with legal or contract teams to finalize agreements.
5. Brand Representation:
• Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities.
• Build and maintain a strong personal brand within the local industry.
Experience Requirements:
1. Industry Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or client management within the construction, architecture, or design sectors.
• Familiarity with drafting, 3D modeling, AutoCAD, or similar services is a plus.
2. Proven Track Record:
• Demonstrated success in B2B sales, with a focus on large contracts or partnerships within architecture or construction firms.
• A strong history of exceeding sales targets or revenue goals.
3. Connections:
• Well-established network in the construction, architecture, or engineering industries in Texas (preferably with decision-makers such as project managers, architects, or engineers).
• Ability to leverage existing relationships to generate quick wins.
4. Sales Skills:
• Expertise in cold calling, client presentations, contract negotiation, and closing sales.
• High level of communication and negotiation skills.
5. Personality Traits:
• Results-driven with a focus on hitting sales goals.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to generating business.
• Comfortable working in a remote or flexible work environment (if applicable).
Additional Qualifications:
• Familiarity with CRM tools to track leads and manage customer relationships.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
