Job Description
This Engineer will be the System Modeling and Batch Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the design, implementation, commissioning, optimization, and troubleshooting of the Control systems at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant.
Essential Duties
- Work as part of the Holston team to implement and commission Operations and Modernization projects for the manufacturing facility
- Drive Process Optimization through control system improvements and modeling
- Develop program for advanced process knowledge retention and employee training

Required Education, Experience, & Skills - Education: BS in Electrical Engineering / Controls / Chemical Engineering and 20+ years of applicable experience. May consider other Engineering related, or similar technical degree with 25+ years of applicable experience in process or automation controls
- Experience with design and optimization of continuous and batch chemical processes
- Experience with Explosives manufacturing
- SME in setup, programming, and troubleshooting of Siemens PCS7 systems, including advanced implementations and customization of batch functionality
- Experience in the use of VP Link for process modeling and testing of control systems, including emulation of process chemistry and system dynamics
- Team oriented, self-motivated, and results driven
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Experience with variable speed drives, positioners, actuators, valves, and instrumentation used for chemical or industrial plant production processes
- MCC (motor control center) management software, such as Siemens Simocode
- Experience leading and coordinating the integration of devices and skids from multiple vendors into a complete system solution
- Knowledgeable in industrial network architectures, topologies, cyber security, servers, hardware, safety interlocks, validation and simulation
- Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, Siemens, PCS7, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, TCP, HART
- Experience and knowledge with nitration chemistry and process controls
- Hands-on experience with application of PLC control of complex chemical reactions
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130
