Job Description
Good Vibrations Grooming is looking to hire an experienced groomer to join our small team. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable with all breeds and styles with AT LEAST 1 year of paid grooming experience. Someone with a soft touch and a positive personality are definite must haves.
Duties would include but are not limited to:
-Intaking dogs and chatting with clients about what style they are hoping to achieve
-Setting expectations for clients as far as pick up times and pricing
-Bathing and styling all dogs on your schedule
-Helping to set up and break down the salon at the beginning of end of the day
-Keeping work areas tidy and kennels cleaned
-Making notes in pet profiles about haircuts and temperaments
-Quarterly work meeting and Deep Clean (about 5 hours total, outside of regular hours)
Pay is commission based starting at 45-50% per dog, including add-on services. Tips are always given to groomers.
Hours are negotiable at this point. Typically groomers work 7:30 am to 3:30 pm; 9:30 am to 5:30 pm; or if you are open to 10 hour shifts you may work for the full day. Days are also negotiable but you will be asked to work Saturdays at minimum. The salon is open 7 days a week. You will never be expected you work more than 40 hrs a week.
Good Vibrations Grooming takes a great amount of pride in having a comfortable experience for all clients, pup and human, that walk through our door. Grooming is done one family at a time and we do not service cats. We don't use kennel dryers and our salon has wonderful open windows so you don't feel like you're grooming in a cage. We do not take walk-in clients and do our best to keep your schedule comfortable for you.
As a company, we value education and continued learning. Every year the salon shuts down for four days of the Northwest Grooming Show. All employees are receive full paid admission and classes. The business is also expanding currently to offer community classes and private self-wash with a groomer on hand. Our community and the dogs in it deserve to have a safe environment to learn as well.
We are hoping to find a groomer with the same values. Before hire there will be two separate interviews, a personal sit down and then if things go well, we will schedule a practical interview where you will be asked to groom a dog. We prefer that you be able to bring one of your choice, but we can also provide a dog if need be. If you'd like to know more check out our website or stop by with a resume!
