Our early childhood program, located in the heart of Burlington is hiring for lead teachers for our two's classroom.
Our two year old's amaze with their boundless curiosity and rapid development. Experience the magic of Burlington alongside these adorable adventurers, as they explore and conquer the world right before your eyes! Duties What You'll Do:
- Collaborate: Work with teachers to implement quality early childhood programs
- Plan & Lead: Assist in lesson planning and lead activities
- Ensure Safety: Supervise activities to keep children safe
- Organize: Help maintain a neat and organized classroom
- Support: Assist in swim lessons, gym lessons, and field trips
- Communicate: Share relevant information with teachers and the director, and address child concerns appropriately
- Engage Families: Maintain professional communication with parents and guardians
- Confidentiality: Keep all information confidential
- Compliance: Help maintain state Child Care Licensing requirements
Requirements - Must be twenty (20) years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
- One (1) year of experience working with children
- Ability to pass federal background and state fingerprint checks
Nice To Haves Pay based on experience:
Teacher Assistant:
- Completion of Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course or the Vermont Afterschool Essentials Certificate
- A completion of a three (3) college credit course in child or human development or a three (3) credit college course for school age care and education
- At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level One (1) or Two (2) Certificate
- At least a current CDA (Child Development Associate)
- At least a State Board of Education approved Human Services Program Certificate that emphasizes child development or early childhood education
Teacher Associate:
- A Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate; or
- Associate Degree with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education or Child and Family Services; or
- A Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program; or
- A Child Care Certificate of Completion from the Community College of Vermont; or
- Successful completion of twenty-one (21) college credits with an Early Childhood or School Age focus.
Lead Teacher:
- At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four (4) A or B Certificate; or
- At least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, Special Education with a birth to eight (8) years of age focus, or
- Child and Family Services and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
- ? At least a bachelor degree from an accredited college with at least successful completion of thirty (30) college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve (12) months experience working with groups of children from grade three (3) or younger; or
- ? Hold at least a current Vermont Agency of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education.
