Description Ford County Event Staff Fund: General Department: Administrative Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Expo Facility Coordinator Job Status: Temporary/Seasonal Travel Required: Occasional in County Work Schedule: as needed odd and extended hours may be required Position Summary: Under the supervision of the expo facility coordinator and/or the expo manager, the employee in this position performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks of limited complexity. The ability to receive, interpret and follow oral and/or written instructions and lift and carry is required. Supervision and instruction is given on new or difficult assignments. This position involves frequent public contact.

Essential Function Statement(s)- Assemble and hang poles and drapes and other show equipment.
- Disassemble and properly store poles and drapes and other show equipment.
- Assist tenant with questions regarding facility.
- Custodial duties such as stocking paper products in restrooms, sweeping floors, mopping floors, cleaning spills etc.
- Carrying tables and chairs and setting them up in requested form.
- Staffing the concession area including correctly receiving payment and returning change.
- Walking on uneven terrain for outdoor event preparation.
- Picking up litter both inside and outside.
- Lifting trash cans and emptying in dumpsters.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS - Other related duties as necessary or required.

- Communication, Oral and Written- Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and proper writing style in all communication vehicles.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Requirements: Must past post offer drug screen. Provide own transportation to and from the facility.
Experience: This is an entry level position. Any variety of experience and skills will be helpful.
Education: This position does not have a minimum educational requirement.
Skills: Bilingual is beneficial but not required. Ability to operate basic hand tools, a broom, mop and calculator is helpful. Employee will be taught required skills and will be expected to retain that instruction.
Problem Solving: No problem solving exists in this position. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures.
Decision Making: Limited decision-making exists in this position. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures.
Accountability: Employee is not responsible for budgetary control of the department and does not participate in the annual budget process.
Supervision: Supervision is provided several times daily and the supervisor reviews all job related decisions. Employee does not have supervisory responsibility over subordinate personnel.
Personal Relations: Frequent contact with other county departments, and the general public requiring ability to communicate and relate in a positive and effective manner.
Working Conditions: Position requires indoor and outdoor work depending on the event requirements. Late nights and weekends are common. Event set up and tear down is typically during the week days, but can be adjusted as needed. Must have the ability to wear personal protection equipment when necessary or required.
