Job Description

The Human Resource Coordinator performs a variety of confidential, administrative and clerical tasks to support the overall operations of the Human Resources Department.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manages recruitment cycle from offer stage to first day and beyond. Follows up on background and reference checks. Ensures a smooth orientation process for new employees.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs and policies.
  • Supports and tracks performance review cycles.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation using proper records retention guidelines for future questions, audits, and reporting.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employee relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring process, etc; refers more complex questions to appropriate HR staff members.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
  • Prepares bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for management.
  • Provides clerical support for recruiting, benefits and payroll to the HR Department.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the HR Intranet page.
  • Responsible for labor law poster enforcement, employment verifications, and garnishments.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Represents Company at factory, industry, and company events, including meetings and training.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adheres to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in Human Resources.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with HR software and system. Paycom preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to successfully pass required background check and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Up to 10% travel requires a valid driver's license and ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy; Company will review motor vehicle records annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles while conducting company business.
