Position Summary Responsible for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems in accordance with national and local code requirements. The systems include, but are not limited to, fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm and detection, fire pumps, fire extinguishers, and backflow prevention assemblies.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties - Inspection and testing of wet pipe fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspection and testing of "special" fire sprinkler systems such as pre-action, dry pipe, and foam. This will include "trip" testing and re-setting of special system valves and associated devices.
- Inspection and testing of fire pumps including annual full-flow functional testing.
- Inspection and testing of fire alarm and detection systems.
- Inspection and testing of fire extinguishers.
- Completion of the NFPA report forms associated with the various systems being inspected using a handheld mobile device.
Qualifications - High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- NICET Certification preferred.
- Experience in Fire Protection/Life Safety industry preferred.
- Experience with fire detection systems including VESDA, FM200 and other gas extinguishing systems preferred.
- Knowledge of functions associated with testing of fire alarms, access control, and security systems preferred.
- Thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying NFPA Code to inspection testing and maintenance of fire protection equipment.
Requirements - Able to meet all physical requirements.
- Must have all required hand tools.
- Must have the ability to work on ladders and lift equipment.
- Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
- All candidates offered a position must successfully pass pre-employment drug and background screens.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and clean Department of Motor Vehicles report.
