Junior Electrical Engineer at CEL-Critical Power Solutions

As part of our determined growth strategy, we are seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to develop high-quality products and solutions for our customers.

With CEL’s expansion into North America, this role will also involve collaborating with colleagues across CEL’s US manufacturing plant and operations, making familiarity with UL standards, NEC codes, and global electrical industry regulations a strong advantage.

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE:

As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you must work closely with sales, project managers, procurement, production, quality assurance, and analyze feedback from customers to produce or modify product designs while reporting into the Senior Electrical Engineers. You must be an adept problem solver, have an excellent eye for design, and be willing to work as part of a team. You will communicate and coordinate among different types of engineers working on a project while adhering to project schedule and budget.

Your Role – Key Responsibilities

  • Meeting with stakeholders to establish the requirements for new/existing product or electrical system.
  • Working with a team of engineers and CAD designers on engineering projects.
  • Develop electrical designs for critical power systems (variety from standard to robust and complex).
  • Work from concept development and ensure that plans meet client needs and engineering standards.
  • Adhere to the timeline for each project
  • Create user friendly operation and maintenance manuals
  • Develop and supervise factory/on-site acceptance test plans
  • Creating designs in accordance with applicable regulations, client specifications, industry standards and company norms using E-Plan Electrical Software.
  • Produce designs focused on manufacturability & assembly while maintaining electrical system reliability, availability, maintainability.
  • Creating prototypes, testing them, and analyzing the results.
  • Validates testing using manual procedures, testing tools and database queries, as required.
  • Providing support during the entire building process to ensure that the design specifications are met.
  • Analyzing problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and recommending solutions.
  • Deliverables include initial quotation technical support, customer interaction and correspondence, generation of Bill of Materials (BOMs), production & drawing/instruction packages, factory/on-site acceptance test plans, Operation & Maintenance manuals, submittals/deliverables & project close-out, and final job cost analysis.
  • Managing change control
  • Responsibilities may include some travel and/or availability for other than normal business hours

Who You Are – The Ideal Candidate

  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering which has been approved by the accreditation board for engineering and technology (ABET).
  • Preferred minimum of 1-2 years of power distribution experience but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an excellent understanding of mathematics.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to and embrace change
