Nows your chance. **The Opportunity** Abt Global is seeking a data scientist to join its growing team in the Digital and Data Services (DDS) Division. This division plays a key role within Abt providing data science methods, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation tools to a broad range of U.S. government agencies. Much of this work is focused on data modernization and analysis in areas such as healthcare, public health, housing, the environment, and human services. The Medicaid Data Scientist works with internal colleagues and external clients to answer complex technical questions. They will perform data cleaning and automated scripts, analyze textual and numerical data, and may utilize various tools to deploy generative AI, natural language processing, and machine learning workflows. This specialized Medicaid position will work in the CMS data ecosystem, with much analysis occurring in the CMS Cloud and CMCSs DataConnect environment. The selected candidate must be experienced in data science methods, with preference given to experience with Python. Experience with TMSIS data or other types of healthcare claims or electronic health record (EHR) data is preferred. The Medicaid Data Scientist may work on-site in Abts offices in any of Atlanta, GA, Cambridge, MA, Durham, NC, or Rockville, MD in a hybrid remote/in-person status, or full-time remote from within the US. **Core Responsibilities** The successful hire will be able to perform the following functions and have the following mix of experience and skills:

• Lead tasks, including organizing work plans and delegating work, with minimal supervision.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems through ingenuity and innovation.
• Collect data from various sources, such as APIs, and perform data management tasks.
• Support data modernization efforts and develop/improve automated data workflows.
• Experience with generative AI, natural language processing, and/or machine learning methods.
• Programming proficiency in Python, SQL, and version control (git) software.

**What We Value**

• PhD in Health Informatics or similar degree with 0 years experience, or Masters + 3 years experience or Bachelors + 5 years experience, OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with healthcare claims data, EHR data, or TMSIS data.
• Must have a current CMS PIV card or the ability to successfully obtain one.
• CMS experience, or other government or public sector experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with TMSIS data (Medicaid data) is strongly preferred.
• Strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $83,000 to $132,000 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location.
