Description SUMMARY Position will be expected to learn, while on the job and in the classroom, how to safely and properly implement pavement marking installation, removal, and traffic control devices according to NCDOT Standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: May include general labor, proper loading, securing, and unloading of work trucks, layout of roadways, traffic control, setting up/taking down road signs, pre-trip/post-trip inspections, driving backup cushion trucks, operating hand equipment such as blowers and grinders, preparing striping equipment
- Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment (to include but not limited to: work boots - 6 inches with safety toe, hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest)
- Ability to complete daily required paperwork
- Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures
- All other duties as assigned
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: - Work well in a team environment

- Excellent attendance required, dependable transportation, good work ethic
Position Requirements WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; moving equipment and machinery parts; moving traffic, and fumes and airborne particles
- Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate/loud
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch.
- Good vision and hearing required along with ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs
REQUIREMENTS: - High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Active driver's license with good record; CDL's a Plus; but not required
- Pass a drug screen
- Pass a DOT Physical
- Pass a criminal background screen
- Weekly assignments vary locally and throughout Central & Eastern NC
- Work schedules may include days, nights, and weekend work; Per Diem for meals and hotel expense paid when overnight travel is required. Shift premium paid for night work.
