Your Daily Tasks:
  • Navigate the roads both on and off, operating our fleet of vehicles to accumulate miles and demonstrate the safety of autonomous driving technology.
  • Collaborate closely with Test Engineers to put the latest code and features through rigorous testing.
  • Support the execution of captivating on-road and off-road demonstrations.
  • Participate in ambitious field trials and data collection exercises in diverse outdoor settings, including travel to various test sites and industry partners across the globe.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of our technology by providing valuable insights and feedback.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by undergoing any necessary training to adapt to new system or operational developments.

Non-Driving Activities:

  • When you're not behind the wheel, document your experiences and share your observations with relevant parties.
  • Take ownership of completing field notes, reporting safety issues, and updating the Oxa Cloud platform.
  • Provide constructive feedback to your peers, Test Engineering, and Software teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Share your innovative ideas with your team and the wider business in a respectful and constructive manner.
  • Stay engaged with company communications, actively listening and taking action when necessary to drive progress and innovation.

Requirements

Your Qualifications:

  • Hold a clean Unrestricted (Class E) Driver’s Licence.
  • Showcase several years of driving experience, preferably in professional roles such as bus, truck, truck combinations, motorcycle, vehicle instruction, emergency services, or rapid response. Alternatively, experience in automotive prototype vehicle testing roles is highly valued.
  • Exhibit a high level of concentration and excellent judgment in navigating live road and traffic situations.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to work, willing to assist with other tasks when vehicles are not in operation.

Extra Kudos if You Have:

  • Commercial Driver’s Licence (CDL) Class C or CDL with ‘P’ (Passenger Transport) Endorsement.
  • Advanced driving qualifications or experience working with prototype test vehicles.
  • Experience in testing vehicles on proving grounds, closed road environments, or motorsports.
  • Background as a vehicle technician, including mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Familiarity with drones, radio/remote-controlled vehicles, or interest in robotics and computing.

Your Background:

  • One molded by dynamic services-based driving roles, such as rapid response, instructional driving, or commercial driving.
  • Another cultivated through an exhilarating journey in motorsports, where speed, precision, and performance reign supreme.
  • The third forged in the intense realm of vehicle testing, specializing in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electronic stability control (ESC), or lane-keeping assist systems (LKAS).

The base salary for this position is expected to be between $60,000-80,000 USD per year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as skills alignment, industry knowledge and location.This role requires the flexibility to travel within the Florida region.

We work 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday
