BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer with a Test focus to join our Integrated Defense Solutions team in an exciting program supporting the U.S. Navy’s next generation of strategic deterrent and integrated strategic weapons system. Serving as one of our Principal Systems Engineers, you will support multi-disciplinary teams of engineers in developing and implementing a well-planned system engineering approach to system integration, verification and validation, and test and evaluation for current and future large-scale missile systems. As Systems Engineer, you will perform the functions of a technical expert in support of advanced programs. In this role, you will provide engineering and scientific experience in performing technical analysis, trade studies, and test and evaluation to enable system definition and realization activities, resolve issues, and make recommendations regarding enhanced capabilities. Working with a team of engineers and scientist, you will utilize digital engineering and model-based systems engineering to perform feasibility studies and evaluation of test facilities hardware and software for new designs, modifications, and upgrades of Naval weapon systems and system of systems.
The selected candidate will work closely with numerous engineering teams supporting the U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office, specifically performing the following functions:
- Support develop of test and evaluation strategy and approach.
- Support test reviews of system requirements.
- Perform physical integration and preliminary test activities in support of the integration plan, verification plan, and Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix (RVTM).
- Perform analysis and collaborate with teams analyzing data to support test and evaluation verification of systems requirements.
- Support development and execution of systems test plans, procedures, test tolerance derivations, and data analysis requirements.
- Support development of test reports
- Engaging with community IPTs / Working Groups / Communities of Practice.
- Supporting Systems Engineering technical reviews.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Typical education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field and 6 years of related/relevant work experience.
Additional skills/experience required:
- Experience spanning the SE Lifecycle with an emphasis on integration, verification and validation, and test.
- Experience developing analytical strategies and performing data analysis in support of complex systems requirements evaluation.
- Experience supporting development and execution of test plans and procedures of complex systems of systems, data acquisition and collection management and reporting.
- Skills in analysis, critical thinking and technical problem solving.
- Demonstrated self starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Experience in digital engineering and model-based systems engineering principles and tools
- Experience with acquisition and/or RDTE experience with submarines or missile systems.
- INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or equivalent certification
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
