    Summary:

    The Senior Buyer serves as a procurement expert, responsible for sourcing and negotiating materials, components, equipment, and services. This role manages procurement processes, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality. As experience and performance grow, responsibilities expand to more complex procurement lines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Procure specialized or complex materials, equipment, and services while adhering to purchasing regulations and procedures.
    • Solicit quotations, evaluate bids, negotiate favorable terms (price, quantity, quality, and delivery), and place orders promptly.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to define specifications, review purchase requisitions for accuracy, and clarify missing details.
    • Provide guidance on purchasing procedures to internal departments and suppliers; assist departments in initiating requisitions and orders.
    • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages to minimize production delays. Expedite orders and communicate any supply chain disruptions.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier and material-related issues, ensuring minimal impact on production schedules.
    • Evaluate and develop supplier relationships, monitor performance, and identify potential new sources to maintain a reliable supply base.
    • Track procurement costs, schedules, and scope to ensure optimal value and meet annual cost reduction targets.
    • Manage supplier performance in quality, delivery, and pricing to support business objectives.
    • Monitor on-time delivery performance, reconcile discrepancies, and address supplier-related risks.
    • Coordinate purchasing activities with the Production Planner and Supply Chain Manager to align procurement with demand planning.
    • Maintain accurate planning data, including lead times, minimum order quantities, and supplier contact details.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and maintain integrity in all procurement activities.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, material/production planning, or equivalent supply chain experience.
    • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (required).
    • Experience with machined and electronic components (preferred).
    • Familiarity with ISO and/or AS9100 standards (preferred).

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in ERP systems for inventory control, purchasing, and MRP.
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Ability to coordinate production schedules, troubleshoot supply chain issues, and communicate procurement trends effectively.
